In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, cars, watching the Philadelphia Eagles and traveling.
	Eric Simonson City Attorney (641) 444-3231 Send a Message to Eric Simonson	Eric began his practice of law with the Houser & Berkland law firm in 2003, with a partnership of Houser, Berkland & Simonson law offices later established. Eric was appointed City Attorney in 2023.
	Cheryl Gardner Deputy City Clerk (641) 444-3386 Send a Message to Cheryl Gardner	Cheryl moved to Belmond with her husband Adam in 2017. She started working for the City of Belmond in December of 2018. In her free time, she enjoys spending it with her dogs, utilizing the trails, gardening, playing pickleball, boating with her husband, cooking, movies, books, volunteering and meeting new people in the community.
	Julie Hegge Assistant to City Manager/City Clerk (641) 444-3386 Send a Message to Julie Hegge	Julie is a Belmond native and moved back to Belmond in 2016 after being in Wisconsin for several years. She started as Belmond Growth Alliance Director and Assistant to City Manager/Clerk in January 2021. She is the mother of two sons and grandmother to six. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering in the community and at her church, singing in the church choir, watching movies, and playing games.
	Sonya Trager Library Director (641) 444-4160 Send a Message to Sonya Trager	Sonya Trager started as a clerk at the library in 2010 and moved into the director position in 2022. She is active in the community and serves as secretary for the Belmond Community Service Women. She also volunteers at St. Francis Xavier Parish where she cantors.
	Brad Dougherty Fire Chief (641) 444-3386 Send a Message to Brad Dougherty	Brad is a Belmond native and started with the fire department as a junior fire fighter while still in high school. He has worked his way up through the ranks becoming Chief in 2022. Brad has been employed at Iowa Specialty Hospital – Belmond since 2007. When not at one of his 3 children’s activities his family can be found snowmobiling in the winter or on the lake with family in the summer.
	Rick McDaniel Police Chief (877) 442-3357 Send a Message to Rick McDaniel	Started in Law Enforcement in 1993 working for the City of Goldfield as a Reserve Police Officer. In 1995, he accepted a full-time position with the Eagle Grove Police Department and was with the Eagle Grove Police Department until 2013. During his time with the Eagle Grove Police Department he was promoted to Sergeant in charge of the night shift. He was a D.A.R.E. instructor for 10 years, A.S.P. instructor, Crime Scene photographer, Domestic Assault Specialist, Sexual Assault Specialist, and Firearms Instructor for the The Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. In 2013, Rick accepted a position with the Belmond Police Department being promoted to Chief of Police in 2014.
	Justin Fournier Public Works Director (641) 444-3386 Send a Message to Justin Fournier	Justin is a Belmond native. He started working for the City of Belmond in 2018 as Waste Water Lead Operator. In 2020 he was promoted to Public Works Director. He acquired his degree in Environmental Science in 2022. Enjoys motorcycles, hunting and spending time with his family.
