The Richard O. Jacobson Fund for Belmond plays a key role in providing significant funding to projects that strengthen Belmond by proactively responding to community trends and opportunities. This grant program seeks to address critical challenges and opportunities in the community and provide seed funding to leverage dollars for high impact projects. Grants are made to charitable organizations or causes with a 501(c)(3) status or to governmental agencies serving a charitable purpose or to projects considered charitable in nature. Applicants that are not organized as a 501(c)(3) or governmental agency are still encouraged to contact the Committee to explore if a fiscal sponsor or other partnership could be formed to support a project that would benefit the Belmond community. Geographically, funding is limited to projects that will significantly improve the Belmond community. It is not The Fund’s practice to fund completed projects or proposals. The Fund seeks projects which will have a transformative impact on Belmond. Grants are awarded each spring.
